A series of presentations, workshops, and facilitated discussions from Feb. - April that give students a space of advocacy, belonging, learning, and support. While this series is dedicated for students, we invite and welcome any community members to attend.

February 25 - Conversations With Chief

Join Chief Corvino with CNM Security presenting on what you need to know and when you feel unsafe on campus and what to expect when you call Security on campus.
March 3 - DreamZone Appetizer NMDT

Presented by the New Mexico Dream Team, the DreamZone Appetizer in this series is a condensed version of DreamZone Training, an opportunity for community members to become “UndocuAllies” - advocates and supporters of undocumented students and their families. This training has been developed by Undocumented youth to voice their experiences through the education system. It creates a welcoming space for educators and community members to engage, collaborate, and take meaningful steps toward building a more just and inclusive educational environment for undocumented students.

Come meet part of our Wellness team and speak with a Wellness CNM Case Manager! Ask questions, find out how they can help, and learn about the support Wellness CNM offers to students year-round.
March 11 - Centro Sávila

This session will offer students tools to understand and manage stress, anxiety, and fear responses. After a short presentation, participants will join small group discussions to share experiences and reflect together in a supportive space. Each group will be guided by a Centro Sávila facilitator to ensure care and connection. Centro Sávila offers affordable, bilingual mental health care and case management rooted in culture and community. Centro Sávila provides therapy, connects families to vital resources, and hosts free support groups that strengthen resilience and belonging. Their mission is to ensure every family has the care and dignity they deserve.
March 20 - Multicultural Spring Equinox Celebration and Workshop With Integrated Elements

Come call in the energy of the Spring Equinox together! Enjoy an outdoor guided experience engaging with the natural world and one another. Together we will share what the Spring Equinox means to us from our diverse cultures and identities and how this contributes to our wellbeing.
March 23 - Get Career Ready With Workforce & Community Success (WCS)

Get career ready with internships, resumes, job searches, and more! In this session, you’ll learn how the CNM Workforce & Community Success (WCS) Career Center helps students prepare for their future careers by finding internship opportunities, searching for jobs through HireCNM, building strong resumes with support staff, and exploring a variety of career pathways and resources designed to guide students toward their career goals.

Meet the Dean of Students on Main Campus for a morning treat and receive Student Handbook and Code of Conduct information.

Join and meet members of QCNM and LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Committee, learn about the experiences of LGBTQIA2S+ employees and discuss resources available to students, such as student clubs, courses available, and how to find allies on campus. Presented by Chris Armstrong, LGBTQIA2S+ Advisory Committee, Q-Cats, and QCNM.
April 1 - TGRCNM Pronouns and Gender Neutral Language

We know that correct names and pronouns are actual suicide prevention with trans and non-binary people but we also know that this is a huge shift for most of us. This presentation will talk about how to change our language, strategies to use when practicing, what to do when you make a mistake, and we’ll even have time to practice together!
April 2 - TGRCNM Trans 201

Transgender Cultural Fluency Training lays the foundation for participants to gain a better understanding of what it means to be transgender, learn common vocabulary, clarify common misconceptions about transgender people, become familiar with the challenges transgender communities face, and learn ways to be a strong and engaged advocate for transgender people.
