We’re thrilled to feature acclaimed author Jehanne Dubrow, alongside student creators published in the Spring issue of Leonardo, CNM’s student fine arts and literary magazine.

Poetry Workshop, Reading, and Q&A Session

In this workshop, poetry reading, and Q&A session, Jehanne Dubrow will introduce you to the challenges of writing poems that engage with trauma. Inspired by the lessons of Jehanne's craft book, The Wounded Line: A Guide to Writing Poems of Trauma, this session will include a discussion of best practices, practical strategies, and further reading for writing poems that explore grief, loss, and trauma. Open to writers of all levels of experience and from across genres!

About the Poet

Jehanne Dubrow is the author of three books of nonfiction, ten poetry collections, and most recently a craft book, The Wounded Line: A Guide to Writing Poems of Trauma (University of New Mexico Press, 2025). Her fourth book of creative nonfiction, Frivolity: A Defense, is forthcoming from Columbia University Press. Her writing has appeared in numerous literary journals, including New England Review, Southern Review, Alaska Quarterly Review, and Ploughshares. She is a Distinguished Research Professor and a Professor of Creative Writing at the University of North Texas.
