Poetry Writing and Reading with Carol Moldaw
Thursday, October 17, 2024 6pm to 8pm
About this Event
4700 Morris St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111
Sometimes we forget that a poem is a handmade thing, a thing made of words, that we choose the words we make it with, and that our word choices influence our images and metaphors, as well as give our poems their distinctive character. In this session, we’re going to do a fun exercise to help us break the pattern of the words we normally choose and experiment with different kinds of words, different levels of diction, to stimulate our imaginations and generate new writing.
Carol Moldaw will offer a writing workshop from 2-3:30 p.m. in I-207, and a reading from 6-8 p.m. in RB-105 that will feature CNM students.
Register for the Writing Workshop Today!
In the evening, Carol Moldaw will present her original poems and follow up with a conversation with the audience in a Q&A session. CNM's Leonardo & Honor students will also be presenting their original works. Light refreshments will be available.
Special thanks to the Executive Council of Students (ECOS) and the CNM Co-Curricular Learning Initiative for supporting and sponsoring this event.
